What sort of connections can I expect?

The Finishers Project provides a pathway for people to enter missions from their current careers. The information you provide about yourself and your spouse, if married, is viewed by partner organizations. In other words, the matching program brings you to the virtual front door of North American sending organizations, also called mission agencies.

It is often not possible for American mission agencies to facilitate people who wish to join them from outside the US. Only the larger organizations have the capability to have someone contact you AND ONLY if they have a recruiting office in your country. Please, first consult your church and missions leaders in your country for opportunities that best fit you.

Since you are responsible to the Lord for your life, it is incumbent upon you to be aggressive in seeking a ministry assignment that fits. This will most likely come from within your own country.

RECRUITING FROM OVERSEAS

Because of the uncertainties of recruiting from afar, most North American mission agencies cannot afford the resources necessary to contact you. Therefore, we suggest that you take the initiative to contact mission agencies that appear to match your interests. You can link to their websites directly from the Finishers Project website.

FUNDING YOUR CALLING

Be advised that most organizations require you to raise support. See the section on fundraising on the Finishers Project Website for the best resources on this subject for you and your ministry. However, beyond pointing you to the best resources, Finishers Project cannot raise funds for you or your ministry. That is part of your assignment from the Lord.

Approximately ten percent of those entering a personal profile are not from the United States.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR PROVEN EFFECTIVENESS

Often inquiries come in for financial support. Each country is responsible before the Lord to prepare its own missionaries - for service across the street, across the river or across the ocean. Nevertheless, some US organizations assist properly trained workers or workers with a proven record of effective ministry in non-Western countries.
